| A wonderful work from Susan’s medieval/fantasy period. The Queen, in finely detailed headdress and gown, is seated in a golden throne. The throne is elevated by a landscape of trees, soaring birds and a moonlit starry night. In her left hand she holds a rose; a gesture of love from a child, in a tunic of moons and stars, who kneels at her feet. The court jester looks on. In the window behind the Queen, birds sit perched in a tree. This piece is unusually large for this period of work. It extensively utilizes Susan’s sgraffito technique to create the fine detailing. This original piece has been re-framed, re-matted with acid-free materials and re-glazed w/conservation clear UV glass. Signed by Susan Seddon Boulet bottom center. Undated. | |||
