![]() Copyright ©2010 Susan Eleanor Boulet Trust Turquoise Ladder Image Size 21-3/4"H x 19-5/8"W A magnificent example of Susan's most artistically developed, visually intriguing and intensely sought after Shaman period work. A very large piece filled with Susan's signature anthropomorphic imagery. Eagle, Bear, Butterfly, Deer, Snake, Raven, Hummingbird imagery as well as imagery that I am unable to identify and have yet to discovered surround the central character. Entitled "Turquoise Ladder" I believe this piece relates to the Kiva, a ceremonial, sacred space peculiar to the ancient and modern Pueblo tribes of the American Southwest. The Kiva was entered through a roof hatchway by means of a ladder whose poles extended well above the opening. A fire pit was dug into the center of the floor, and represented the entrance to the lower world and the place of emergence through which life came into this world. "Turquoise Ladder" is limited in edition to one-thousand. Each print is numbered in the margins and blind-stamped to insure authenticity. The image is printed on 140 lb. Sommerset, acid-free, archival paper using state-of-the-art archival inks. Each print has full margins.
